situation:
you are a SWE like me. you are working on building something, shipping a feature. you have 3 agents working - planner, implementer, verifier. There are short tasks, your job is just to keep checking in omce the prompts finish and then prompt the next thing and so on. all your agents are busy right now, you know they will be busy for like 30 more seconds. your phone is literally next to your keyboard, you reach out, your muscle memory opens up instagram and boom you are scrolling again, 3 minutes have passed scrolling and now you get reminded of "work". you get back to it. you verify work, you have lost a little mental context honestly because of your rendezvous with reels. you gather yourself, write the next prompt. repeat the same cycle for an hour. with every run of that cycle, the agents keep building more and more, you naturally have lesser context now, you are sort of on an auto-pilot now. your focus is divided. you have lost control, now all you do is press Enter at times, between prompts. yeah keep giving agent a free-er hand, you take the agent's recommendations everywhere. you have stopped thinking, you have waved the white flag. you are tired, agents have won.
question: what do i do between prompts?
requirements:
- it should help me with my work.
- it should not get me extra tired.
- it should not break my flow state.
solution:
- go analouge: no mobile. have a notepad, pen. between every prompt: write. some prompts to help write:
- what is the agent working on
- what do i expect from the agent
- make doodles, connecting graphs, concepts on the paper, visualize the code
